How vOLT XGS64 Helps You Seize Policy Dividends from the Upgrade of Dual Gigabit to Dual 10G

AINOPOL – All-Optical Convergence Solution Provider

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has officially launched the 10G optical network pilot to drive comprehensive industrial upgrading. As an SFP+ modular hardware solution, the XGVOLT64 (ZH-VOLTXG64) supports smooth evolution from current XGPON to future higher-speed standards. Integrators only need to replace optical modules to capture policy dividends and seize early opportunities in the 10G market.

The new round of 10G optical network pilot policies issued by MIIT has sent a strong signal for the industrial upgrading of all-optical networks.FTTR (Fiber to the Room) and next-generation PON technologies are embracing opportunities for large-scale cross-generation network construction. The XGVOLT64 (ZH-VOLTXG64) adopts standard SFP+ packaging, delivering 10G downlink / 2.5G uplink and supporting up to 64 XGPON ONUs, while enabling seamless evolution toward next-generation PON.

This article conducts an in-depth analysis from policy background, technical advantages, practical value for integrators, and frequently asked questions. It helps weak-current integrators leverage national policy trends to seize opportunities in the all-optical market during the transition from Dual Gigabit to Dual 10G.

Guide Weak-Current Integrators to Leverage National Policies and Capture New Opportunities in the All-Optical Market

Emerging applications such as cloud gaming, ultra-high-definition video, and AI edge computing continue to generate rigid demand for network infrastructure with higher bandwidth and lower latency.10G optical network access has been listed as a new pilot indicator by the state and MIIT.The launch of AINOPOL XGVOLT64 by WisOptics is designed to help integrators find a reliable technical balance between investment protection and 10G network evolution.

What Market Growth Opportunities Are Brought by the Dual 10G Policy Dividend?

Based on the official list of completed first-phase 10G optical network pilots released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), a total of 136 pilot projects nationwide have passed acceptance, covering three major categories: 10G residential communities, 10G factories, and 10G industrial parks.

These pilot experiences are set to be promoted nationwide, which will trigger explosive growth in network upgrade and renovation demands across hotels, commercial buildings, campuses and other scenarios. All-optical network infrastructure has become the core carrier for engineering integrators and property owners to capture policy dividends. Integrators that fail to deploy all-optical capabilities in a timely manner may miss major market opportunities in the coming years.

How XGVOLT64 Helps Integrators Steadily Capture Dual 10G Policy Dividends

Smooth Multi-Generation Coexistence, Preparing for Future Upgrades

MIIT’s Notice on Launching 10G Optical Network Pilot Work clearly requires newly built 10G access ports to be compatible with existing access technologies and support smooth upgrades.

Designed following the principle of coexistence for GPON and XG-PON generations, the XGVOLT64 adopts standard SFP+ encapsulation and connects via 10G optical ports to enable lightweight deployment of XGPON networks.

When higher-speed standards become mainstream in the future, only the central office OLT modules and terminal ONUs need to be replaced, while the original fiber links remain intact — truly realizing one-time cabling, smooth speed upgrade. This greatly reduces integrators’ long-term maintenance risks in projects.

Build an F5G Underlying Architecture, Embrace the "No Optical, No AI" Trend

MIIT policies have launched integrated pilots for 50G-PON together with FTTH/FTTR technologies. The national standard YD/T 6442-2025 specifies detailed management requirements for FTTR networks.

The ZH-VOLTXG64 (XGS64) is inherently adaptable to Fiber-to-the-Room scenarios. Combined with XGPON ONUs or future Wi‑Fi 7 converged terminals, it meets high-end demands for all-optical Wi-Fi.

As an access product that fully complies with TCO indicators, XGVOLT64 enables integrators to build a premium network architecture during the Dual 10G transition window, winning customer reputation and long-term profits.

Starting with the vOLT series all-optical networks, weak-current enterprises can quickly enter the Dual 10G transformation cycle. They can guide clients to leverage existing fiber lines and modular structures to lay a solid foundation for a seamless upgrade to future 50G-PON.

With the large-scale rollout of pilot projects such as all-optical hotels, integrators can gain a first-mover advantage during this policy-driven period.

FAQ

Q: Does the vOLT module support multiple service VLANs?A: Yes. The module supports full VLAN tag transparent transmission. VLANs can be freely configured on the upper-layer switch, and ONU ports can be bound to different VLANs as needed to isolate data, voice, IPTV and other services.

Q: Hotels already have multiple legacy switches. How to deploy XGVOLT64?A: Insert the XGVOLT64 module into one core switch, then uplink the existing floor switches to the core via electrical or optical ports. Legacy devices can serve as supplementary terminals and be phased out gradually.

Q: What is the transmit optical power of the XGVOLT64 module? Will splitters affect transmission distance?A: The module’s transmit power is about 5dB. After 1:32 optical splitting, the received power at the ONU side ranges from approximately -12dBm to -15dBm, which remains within the sensitivity range of XGPON ONUs. It is recommended to limit the splitting ratio to no more than 1:32 to ensure stable operation.

Issued as MIIT Communication Letter No. 〔2025〕3, the Notice on Launching 10G Optical Network Pilot Work has officially included 50G-PON ultra-broadband optical access and FTTR (Fiber to the Room) in national pilots.

The pilot scope explicitly covers 50G-PON access ports with multi-generation and multi-mode compatibility, ensuring interoperability and smooth upgrade with existing network technologies. A total of 168 projects were shortlisted, among which 136 have passed official acceptance.

As a pioneering product for integrators to seize the policy dividend of upgrading from Dual Gigabit to Dual 10G, the XGVOLT64, alongside all-optical networks, Passive Optical LAN (POL) and FTTR technologies, builds a simplified, high-performance, and smoothly evolvable optical network for end users. It is a reliable choice for integrators to capture opportunities in the national 10G optical network pilot wave.
