Customer Demand

As soon as I arrived at the school, I started with the overall network facilities of the campus environment. Under the guidance of the school staff, I walked into the computer room to learn about the construction of the school's network cabling and discovered potential security risks in the campus network. According to relevant staff, the large scale of teachers and students in the school has led to high network density, coupled with the gradual increase in the types of business on campus. Currently, the mainstream network technology in the school is traditional Ethernet, but the transmission performance of Ethernet's medium twisted pair is insufficient, resulting in the existing networking solution being unable to meet the networking needs brought about by the background of smart teaching. Therefore, in response to the bottleneck of network transmission and the weak carrying capacity of teaching services at Guiyang No.1 Middle School, the "All Optical Network Construction Plan" of Smart Optics is adopted. It is now necessary to start from the aspects of VLAN division of the school network, network segment planning, and network optimization.

After identifying the problem, connect various professional equipment such as school gateways, servers, and terminal devices through lines, and design a targeted network topology diagram to solve the problem of network congestion.

Solution

Although there are multiple options for VLAN partitioning, considering the diverse nature of teaching management services in schools, in order to facilitate campus network management, the final choice is to partition on cloud AP+. Therefore, when creating VLANs, it is necessary to determine the VLAN to which each business belongs and configure the cloud AP+of intelligent optical communication. This is because it can not only save space and achieve green and energy-saving functions, but also solve the network congestion problem of all teachers and students in the school. It can also achieve cross school, cross district, and cross province collaboration. More importantly, it simplifies the project, makes it easy to install and operate, and can also evolve and upgrade continuously in the future use process. After determining the type of VLAN division, it is necessary to set up corresponding gateways to achieve communication between different network segments and VLANs. Finally, after the above steps are taken for testing and verification, it is sufficient.

Results and Feedback

After this network construction, the congestion problem of the school's network coverage area was successfully solved, and the operation and maintenance results of this project were unanimously satisfied by the school leaders. Smart Optical Communication used cloud AP+to divide the VLAN of the school, and through information technology upgrade and transformation, covered the all-optical network, achieved unified cloud management function and seamless roaming of access users, and integrated multiple teaching management services to solve the problems of incomplete network coverage, wireless congestion, and inability to control devices uniformly in the school.
